A painting study after Ivan Makarov’s Portrait of Anastasia Ushakova, focusing on the delicate pastel palette and the way layers of lace overlap and interact with the figure beneath.
I was particularly interested in the almost translucent quality of the lace, and in how much depth can be created by adding color and contrast, to highlight the details of the chosen section to replicate.
These are all original, one-of-a-kind pieces, as usual. They are a lovely way to help me keep my art supplies box well fed.
