Description
Water-mixable oil, acrylic texture paste and metallic pigments on canvas board, 30 × 40 cm (11.8 × 15.7 in)
Arcane inspired textured painting created as an abstract, highly textured study inspired by Arcane, the animated series.
For this piece, I brought some of my costume-weathering techniques directly into painting. Acrylic texture paste creates the three-dimensional surface, while gold and copper pigments catch the light across the raised areas. The result is a textured metallic surface that changes as you move around the painting.
The combination of layered texture, metallic pigments and abstract forms gives the piece a tactile, almost weathered quality, translating some of the techniques I normally use on costumes and props into a different medium.
These are all original, one-of-a-kind pieces, as usual. They are a lovely way to help me keep my art supplies box well fed.
