Description
The Chartreuse Swirl is an exclusive robe à transformation handcrafted in luxurious green-gold double face duchesse satin. Inspired by 19th century fashion (1895) and the original gown preserved at the MET, this unique piece was worn at the Venice Carnevale and is now available for purchase. It includes three interchangeable components:
-
Day bodice
-
Evening bodice decorated with peonies
-
Matching skirt
This historical gown is built using traditional sewing techniques, lined in beige cotton to match antique originals. Recently, the leg o’mutton sleeve top layer was shortened by a few centimeters to more closely match the original historical model.
Fabric and Craftsmanship
The duchesse satin is very thick, with a remarkable shine and depth of color. To avoid unnecessary bulk, some hidden inner edges are left raw, placed carefully where there is no stress or tension, ensuring both elegance and durability. This is a true showpiece, ideal for historical events, masquerade balls, or collectors of costume art.

-
Bust: up to 105 cm

The dress has been worn once and will be used one final time in a controlled portfolio photoshoot. It will then be professionally dry-cleaned before shipment (please allow two weeks for this process).
Evening Bodice Closure
The evening bodice front is currently left open to allow for adjustment to the final wearer. The listed price includes the bodice in this unfinished state (recommended for best fit). If you prefer it closed to your exact measurements, this service can be added for an additional fee of approximately €120.
Payment
Payment plans available in up to four monthly installments. A small interest fee applies depending on the number of installments, and a contract will be signed.
