A special collaboration between @dario_princiotta and @grimildemalatesta
Crafted in pearl-grey duchess satin by @darioprinciotta, this gown floats between centuries: 18th-century silhouettes meet 1950s couture lines in a bodice of exquisite proportion and sculptural draping. If you don’t know Dario, he’s a couturier from Palermo, Italy, who has been trained in haute couture techniques and has found his own style in mixing historical elements with the clean lines of Dior, Balenciaga and Charles James.
I painted the fabric by hand, softening contrasts, breaking symmetry, and gliding into a more enchanted realm. Hints of violet and pale blue shimmer across the satin. The bodice – layered with resin, mica, and delicately frayed printed organza – bursts into flight with dozens of pastel organza butterflies.
The gown closes at the front and is structured for independent wear: no stays needed. Panier and underskirt included.
Perfect for a themed ball, or a wedding with a touch of magic.
