Description
Pleated silk dupion, transformed through dyeing, transformed into a structured piece with historical flavor. The result is a red wearable artwork inspired by Ishioka’s armour designs for Dracula.
Built around a corset-like foundation, the piece features layered pleating that creates an armour-like silhouette. The front closes with inner lacing and outer pearl button detailing, while the neckline is finished with black faceted glass beads. A ruff effect is created using black and white dotted feathers for a sharp visual contrast.
The back is designed to evoke anatomical structure, referencing the spine and back muscles through construction lines and shaping. Sleeves remain unmounted and come in matching pinked silk dupion with lining, ready for completion. The hips are enhanced with padded elements, and the back is finished with black silk satin bows.
Raw edges are intentionally left visible to allow controlled fraying over time, reinforcing the unfinished aesthetic.
