Replica of Padmé Tatooine Blue Costume, inspired by the costume worn in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones.

This was the one I re-made for myself, after finding a lighter weight fabric than the previous one, which is more true to the reference. I have worn it once. Now I am gradually leaving my cosplaying times behind, and I want this piece to get into some loving hands, to be used and enjoyed as much as it deserves, not to remain in a closet for years.

You know how much of a stickler for details I am, when it comes to Padmé’s work. My replicas are among the best in the market, and are very much coveted, especially since I stopped taking requests for them.

Materials

The main fabric is an aqua crepe-stretch knit, which matches to perfection the appearance of the original costume. Both the bodice and skirt are finished with a darker, less saturated blue satin bias tape cording, as in the original.

The upper part of the costume is made as one piece: the bodice crosses over the chest and continues into the long sleeves, cape and hood. An invisible zip at the back makes it considerably easier to put on than the construction might suggest. It is still a bit of a puzzle, the first time you get into your hands, but once you understand how it works, you’ll put the whole costume on in a matter of seconds.

The skirt is made from the same aqua fabric and is decorated with the characteristic silver-gray stenciled pattern. I studied the proportions, to make it exactly the size of the original one. I am of a similar height to Portman, so this gets very, very close to the original.

The beaded fringe is made of course with transparent glass coin-shaped beads (a pain to find!) alternating with hematite-colored (almost black, with a shiny finish) seed beads.

The costume includes

Matching shoes, Italian size 37 (UK: 4; US Women: 6.5)*

* The shoes were bought second-hand and are included with the costume. They are not being priced separately, so there is no reduction in price if you would prefer to receive the costume without them.

The wig and headdress are not included. The mottled velvet cape in the Instagram reel is not included.

Measurements

I made this costume for myself, so the measurements are based on my own body:

Bust: 100 cm / 39.4″
Hips: 106 cm / 41.7″
Height: 162 cm / 63.8″ (approximately 5’4″)

The fabric has some stretch, so the costume is somewhat adaptable. The skirt and upper part both have an invisible zip at the back.

Condition

This Padmé Tatooine Blue Costume has been worn once for studio photography. and once at a Rebel Legion charity event.

There are a few small marks on the fabric. Before shipping, I will have the costume professionally cleaned as part of the sale.

Please allow approximately two weeks from the date of purchase for this to be completed. I work with a specialist cleaner whom I trust with my costumes, but their workshop is around 40 minutes from my studio each way. I normally combine several pieces in the same trip, which allows me to absorb the additional travel time into my usual pricing.

If you need the costume sooner, I can of course arrange a dedicated trip specifically for your order. There is also a small imperfection in the stenciling on the back. This is visible on close inspection but does not affect the overall appearance of the costume, and has been considered in the pricing.

One other thing worth mentioning is the draping of the upper bodice. Because the fabric is soft and the way it falls depends somewhat on the individual body wearing it, it may need a couple of small additional hand stitches to keep the drape sitting exactly as intended on a different wearer. This is a very minor adjustment and cannot really be predicted without seeing the costume on its new owner.
