Description
A little Black satin 1890s Swiss belt I made years ago.
Made to be worn over a 1895 dress, it can be adjusted with a bit of creativity for edwardian and late victorian pieces and, if you’re not going for 100% historical accuracy, also for 1850s and 60s.
You can see the original inspiration in the museum pic, while the following are suggestions on how to use it for multiple outfits. It is a very versatile item, that can allow to completely change the feel of a whole outfit within a small budget. You can use it for day or evening dresses, to highlight the shape of the torso and the small waist.
