1770s Inspired Men’s Three-Piece Suit

Description

I made this 1770s inspired three-piece suit from silk taffeta with a lovely hand and thickness to it, woven with black and pink warp and weft that create a stunning iridescent purple effect. Made by yours truly with love, care (and a bit of hurry), this historical outfit has no visible machine topstitching, it was patiently hand finished.

It has been gently used for an event, and the price reflects its condition. The suit will be professionally dry-cleaned before shipping.

Measurements

Waist up to 95 cm (37.4 inches)

Chest up to 120 cm (47.2 inches)
Made for someone about 185 cm (6 ft 1 in) tall.

I am selling it because the fabric supplier sent a different shade than expected: the images described a mauve shade, but the resulting iridescent purple is still exceptionally beautiful. Due to budget and time constraints, I used this fabric for the event, but now I have the time to create a new set in the color I originally intended, and this now deserves a new home… and to be worn more often than my husband would, as a new suit is on the way.

This historically inspired 18th-century men’s costume is ideal for the Carnevale di Venezia (Venice Carnival), historical reenactments, fancy dress balls, or period-inspired photography.

To complete the look, you will need a proper 18th-century shirt, a cravat, stockings, and period shoes.

Special deals

If you also purchase the matching 1770s silk gown, I will apply a €100 discount on the total.

I can add weathering and aging effects to give the outfit a cinematic, lived-in appearance, perfect for fantasy portraits or historical photography projects. Choosing this option grants a 10% discount on the cost of the weathering process (prices start at +€150, depending on your budget and desired finish).
