The dress

A delicious polonaise dress, in a cheeky pink color. Silk, naturally. Silk and line for all of it.

Imagine now, a lovely silhouette given by a good set of undergarments, enhances by the volume of the most lovely silk dupion or taffeta, in the most vibrant of pinks. Imagine more than ten yards of fabric flowering in a luxurious skirt, beautifully accented by self trim.

On the robe, the fabric is dyed with a japanese technique which will give it tendrils/veins in a darker shade, to enhance the resemblance to a petal.

Trimming with striped chiffon in a deep teal color will give the last touch of contrast to make all the details pop and to make your dress unique.

Also, there will not be any machine topstitching in sight. Your dress will be light and crisp.

Though this is not intended to be strictly historical, it will make you look like a character from a tv show or an opera. Imagine La Carlotta from the Phantom of the Opera, or Charlotte Wells from Harlots, or Madame Du Barry in a new Marie Anotinette adaptation.

 

How it works

The PRICE RANGE: can be made for 2600.

With 230 extra euros I will include the wig.

You can choose to add up to 500 euros of extra busget to make the trimming richer and add time to be spent in the embellishment department.

I have some of the supplies I need for this dress. I may also make minor changes in the design while working on it, but the final work will be true to the feel of the sketch.

Crafting time depends on the current commissions list. I will need at least 8 months to make this. If you have a deadline, please inquire BEFORE placing your order.
