Description
This late 1770s-inspired fancy dress harlequin gown is a unique piece ideal for historically inspired photoshoots, costume balls, or the Venice Carnival (Carnevale di Venezia). The ensemble features a hand-painted robe in pure silk dupioni, finished with elegant black pompons and contrasting red grosgrain bows that bring the whole palette to life, as in a painted porcelain sculpture. The stomacher is adorned with black ribbons and matching red bows, while the skirt is made of bridal-quality synthetic satin, which allows you to care for it more easily, being it ivory.
This gown was quickly finished for an event and has been gently used; the price reflects that.
Measurements
Waist up to 68 cm (26.7 inches), bust up to 100 cm (39.4 inches).
Made for someone around 162 cm (5 ft 3¾ in) tall.
This piece was part of my personal wardrobe, and I truly enjoyed wearing it during historical celebrations and elegant masquerade gatherings. As my work evolves, I have fewer occasions to wear my older creations, so I am letting this gown find a new, loving home. It deserves to be worn and admired more often than I could allow.
To wear it properly, you will need a pair of 18th-century stays (the robe and stomacher need to be pinned on, as it was done in the 18th century) and at least one petticoat for volume and structure, and bustle padding as would have been done in the late Rococo period.
Special deals
If you also purchase the matching 1770s purple three-piece suit, I will apply a €100 discount on the total.
I can add weathering and aging effects to give the gown a cinematic or character-driven look, perfect for fantasy or historical photography. If you choose this option, I will add a 10% discount on the cost of the weathering process (price to be decided according to your budget and starting at +150 euros).
